Concentrating on running for the for the next few years, Carrie completed the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA and qualified for the Boston Marathon. After having a child, she returned to Scranton to prove to herself that she was still an athlete. After qualifying for Boston again, she had to pass on the honor as she was pregnant with her second child. In 2009 she returned to the triathlon scene. She completed her first 70.3 at Ironman Rhode Island in 5:19. She continued the season by winning all but one of the remaining races she entered including winning her age group at the New Jersey State Championship.  Carrie looks forward to competing this season in Duathlon Nationals, Sprint and 70.3 distance triathlons, and various running and cycling races both at the local and national level.  Carrie has coached cross country, indoor track and spring track at the middle school and high school level.

Joe McMahon

Coach

USAT All American 2010

2010 Ironman World Championships 70.3 qualifier (4:39:21)

Taking on a triathlon as a sort of ‘dare’ from a cycling friend, Joe entered the NJ State Olympic and then finished as the 3rd overall novice. He was immediately hooked on the sport. Podium finishes weren’t a regular occurrence until 2010 when coach Joe D took over and organized his workouts. Age Group wins at the War, Bassman, NJ State (2nd), Randolph, and Born, legitimized the efforts. Joe’s success in the sport is attributed to hard work and his balance in the 3 disciplines. While Joe Mac has quickly risen in the ranks of triathlon, he’s also new enough to the sport to remember what its like for first timers. Joe Mac comes from a soccer background and played four years Division I at Villanova, so he’s a fierce competitor. Joe loves spending time at master’s swims, road races, and triathlons, but you’re more likely to catch him cheering on one of his 4 children participating in their own sports. Joe Mac is a USAT Certified Level I triathlon coach as well as a USA Cycling Certified Level 3 cycling coach.
